Stem Week

Dear Families,

This is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) week at school.

On Monday and Friday, students will have a “Discovery Table” outside at recess. Today, we played with magnifying glasses, binoculars, measuring tapes, magnets and scales. Tools scientists use to explore the world around us.

We want to invite families to bring some STEM into their home with this read aloud (youtube) about a child who is curious about the world and determined to make discoveries.

After listening, encourage your student to draw a picture of themselves as a scientist. We will collect the pictures for a bulletin board at the school.

Esta es la semana STEM (Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemáticas) en la escuela.

Después de escuchar, anime a su estudiante a hacer un dibujo de sí mismo como científico. Recopilaremos las fotografías para un tablero de anuncios en la escuela.
